Reading list: picks for the month

The books that will keep me busy this month:

READING LIST

  • Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – This one was highly recommend by some friends. The movie is said to be released next October.
  • Jab Jab, Jab Right Hook from the one and only Gary Vaynerchuk – It’s a Gary’s book. Enough said.
  • Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek – An interesting perception on how teams can function at their best.

There is no such thing as enough knowledge.

ON WORK

“We’ve grown used to spending weeks on one idea only to have it thrown away at the last minute. If we opened up this process to more sharing — among ourselves and our clients — we’d have more time to build and evolve better ideas.”

ON LOVE

“There is no settling down without some settling for. There is no long-term relationship not just putting up with your partner’s flaws, but accepting them and then pretending they aren’t there. We like to call it in my house “paying the price of admission.

(…) Any long-term relationship that’s successful is really a myth that two people create together … and myths are built of lies, and there’s usually some kernel of truth…”

My kind of look: Vibrant Red

You know about those crazy busy days when all you do is run errands and attend everyone’s needs except your own? These are the days when we most need a little hint of colour in our lives. But with barely any time to spare, you quickly get out of the house with the most vibrant red jacket you can find, confident that with that and a smile the day will fly away and tomorrow you’ll be just fine.

Recipe:
Coat dark skinnies
Grey T-shirt

Alexander Wang for a laugh

If you don’t know who Bon Qui Qui is, let me just tell ya: Shame on you! Go look it up! “Ruuude!”

Alexander Wang gives us a laugh by showing us the guetto-fabulous Bon Qui Qui as shop clerk. It is costumer service at it’s worst. I like it when fashion don’t take itself too seriously!
